Police Appeal For CCTV Following Household Burglaries, Holmfirth

Detectives investigating a series of burglaries in the Holmfirth area in January are appealing for information and footage from residents.

The Kirklees District Crime Team are investigating four household burglaries in the Holmfirth and New Mill area during the evening of Saturday January 27th and are asking residents to check CCTV between 10pm and 12pm for any suspicious activity.

If residents have CCTV recorded of persons acting suspiciously or any footage involving a white 4 door Audi A3 or a black 4 door Volkswagen Polo they are asked to contact the Kirklees District Crime Team.

Police also recovered a black Audi S3 confirmed as stolen from the South Yorkshire area which was crashed just after 10pm on January 27th on Gate Foot Lane, off the A635 Penistone Road in the rural Kirklees area.

Following enquiries police have now arrested five males in connection with the burglaries.

Detective Constable Christopher Eglen of Huddersfield District Crime Team, said:

‘We have arrested suspects in relation to these offences and enquiries are ongoing, but would very much like to speak to anyone who has information or footage which could assist he investigation.

“If anyone has CCTV that could assist, please contact West Yorkshire Police at your earliest convenience”.
