Police Appeal For Information Following Knifepoint Robbery in Batley

Police are appealing for witnesses following a knifepoint robbery in Batley on Wednesday (01/07).

At around 8.30pm, the victim, a woman in her 30s and heavily pregnant, was sitting in the grounds of Batley cemetery when she was approached by a man who demanded she handed over money.

The suspect threatened her with a knife, before taking cash from the victim’s purse.

He then made off in the direction of Cemetery Road.

The suspect is described as white, tall and of skinny build. He is believed to be in his 30s and was wearing a grey top and blue trousers.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed a male matching this description in the area or anyone who saw a male making off down Cemetery Road to come forward.
