Seven Injured in Serious Road Traffic Collision, Regent Street, Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision shortly before midday on Regent Street in Leeds.

At 11.58 officers attended to find a Silver Peugeot which had left the road and crashed into a church and a Blue Audi that had been involved in the collision.

A 26 year old female passenger in the Peugeot has been taken to hospital in a critical condition; the driver and other passengers, two adults and a baby received minor injuries.

The driver of the Audi, a 27 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

Two children who were on the pavement when the collision took place suffered minor injuries.

The road is still closed, and could be for some time whilst police carry out their investigation.

Officers are appealing to the public for witnesses to the collision itself or if anyone saw the vehicles prior to the collision.
