UPDATE: Further Charge in Relation to Firearms Discharge, Hill Top Road, Bradford

Police have charged a second male in relation to the discharge of an automatic weapon in Thornton last month.

Byron Kiloh, aged 18, of Broadstone Way, Bradford has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and has been remanded to appear before magistrates in Bradford today (Thursday).

The charge relates to the discharge of a weapon on Friday, 20 October, where damage was caused to a property and vehicles in Hill Top Road.

Michael Webster, aged 26, of Hill Crest, Swillington, Leeds, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with this incident.

He appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court on 28 October and was remanded into custody.

A 17-year-old male from Bradford who was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident has been released under investigation.

Detectives investigating the discharge of an automatic weapon in Bradford last month have today made further arrests.

The males aged 17 and 18 were arrested from addresses in Bradford this morning in connection with the discharge in Hill Top Road on Friday, 20 October which caused damage to properties and vehicles.

They remain in custody at this time.

Michael Webster, aged 26, of Hill Crest, Swillington, Leeds, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with this incident.

He appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court on 28 October and was remanded into custody.

Following further investigation a firearms discharge on Hill Top Road on Friday, 27 October is not thought to be linked to the earlier incident.

A 24-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested in connection with this discharge and has since been released under investigation.

Detectives investigating recent firearms discharges in the Thornton area of Bradford have charged a 26-year-old man.

The incident happened on Friday 20 October where an automatic firearm was discharged in Hill Top Road.

Michael Webster, aged 26, of Hill Crest, Swillington, Leeds, was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court this morning and was remanded into custody.

Last night (27 October), there was a further firearms discharge on Hill Top Road, a police cordon still remains and detectives are conducting extensive enquiries to establish whether the two incidents are linked.

Detective Superintendent Nick Wallen, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “All incidents relating to firearms are taken extremely seriously by West Yorkshire Police and this latest incident is currently being investigated to establish the circumstances.

“High visibility patrols, including armed officers, have been deployed to the area to reassure the communities.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has any further information which could assist with our investigation.”
