Having your vehicle stolen can be extremely upsetting and have a major impact on your daily routine – getting to work, dropping the kids off at school or running a business.  Car Key burglaries account for just under 10% of burglaries in West Yorkshire and some of the makes and models stolen include VW Golf, Vauxhall Astra, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Audi A3 and Vauxhall Corsa.  The vehicles stolen may end up getting written off, used in other criminal offences, sold on or broken down for parts.
Wednesday 4 October 2023 Police have released an image of a man they are keen to speak to in relation to a burglary in Batley.  Officers are investigating a burglary at a property on Market Place on 29 September where a bank card was stolen.

Friday 4 August 2023  Police in Kirklees are appealing for information following a number of burglaries yesterday in Holmfirth and Huddersfield. 
Insecure or Sneak-In burglary accounts for approximately 1 in 4 burglaries across West Yorkshire.  This method of entering someone’s home only occurs if a door or window has been left open or unlocked.  It only takes a minute to prevent it and costs nothing other than your to time to stop it from happening.

Tuesday, March 26, 2024Detectives investigating a robbery in Bromley Street, Hanging Heaton, near Batley, have issued two images of suspects they would like to identify in connection with the incident.One of the suspects is described as being of mixed race, wearing a snood and a black puffa jacket. 
Burglaries often increase during the Spring and Summer months, when burglars take advantage of people leaving doors and windows open during the warmer weather.
Wednesday 18 January, 2023 More than £1.5-million of cannabis has been seized from the streets of communities in Batley and Spen in just 12 months according to new data.  
On Tuesday 19th March 2024  one of our Neighbourhood PCSO's recovered a stolen vehicle in Chapel Allerton which had been stolen in a burglary from December 2023 in the Moortown area.
