Update: Three Men Charged After Firearms Discharge, Radcliffe Road, Wakefield

Detectives investigating a firearms discharge on Radcliffe Road, Wakefield have charged three men.

Police were called to Radcliffe Road in the early hours of 13 August to reports of a firearm discharge at the door of a property there.

No one was injured.

Three men, William Bedford 20, Samuel Clegg 23 and Anthony Smithey 26 have all been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They have all been remanded into custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on October 1.

Detectives are appealing for information following a firearms discharge on Radcliffe Road, Wakefield.

At 3.04am this morning police received a report of a potential firearms discharge at the door of a property on Radcliffe Road, Wakefield.

Three male suspects arrived at the property in a Silver Vauxhall. The vehicle was later found burnt out.

A scene is currently in place whilst forensic examinations take place.

Detective Inspector Sarah Burton of West Yorkshire’s Firearms Prevent Team said:

‘Our investigation is at an early stage but we believe this has been a targeted attack.

‘This incident will understandably cause concern in the local community and there are increased high visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance.

‘The discharge of any firearm is extremely serious and extensive enquiries are underway to find all of those responsible. 

‘Thankfully no one has been injured in this incident.

‘I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information to contact officers.’
