All Hands to the Pump in Tackling Fuel and Vehicle Crime

On 13th February 2017 officers from Pudsey Police Station carried out road checks on Canal Road, Armley as part of Operation Dodgegill. In total, 30 vehicles were stop checked. Partner agencies such as Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and HM Revenue & Customs' Road Fuel Testing Unit were in attendance.

Officers issued tickets of a £100 each to driver and a passenger for not wearing a seatbelt and to the same vehicle another £100 ticket for a bald tyre which will come with 3 points. A driver was issued with vehicle defect rectification scheme for not displaying a number plate where it should be. HMRC found a vehicle to be using red diesel. The driver may face a fine of £540.
