Appeal: Car Stolen In Robbery, Bradford

Thursday, 14 January 2016

Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries when his car was stolen in Bradford.

The 48-year-old male owner of the car was on a test drive of his blue Vauxhall Zafira with two other males at about 8.30pm on Monday, 11 January.

He asked the males to stop the vehicle in Lapage Street, so he could drive it back home.

But as he got out, the car drove off.

The owner attempted to stop the vehicle by holding on to it, but let go after a short distance when he collided with a lamp post.

He was taken to hospital with fractures to his arms and legs and is still recovering in hospital.

It is not known where the vehicle drove off towards.

Following enquiries in the area two men aged 18 and 25 were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Enquiries are continuing and officers would be keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle, which had the registration plate KJ53 LAE, in the BD3 area shortly after this incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC 5931 Mansell at Bradford District CID on 101, quoting crime reference 13160015063, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, where reports can be made anonymously.
