Appeal Update: Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Oakenshaw

Police investigating a serious road traffic collision in Oakenshaw last week are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

The collision occurred in the early hours of Thursday 13 July in Oakenshaw when a silver coloured MG travelling towards Chain Bar was in collision with a wall on Bradford Road, near to the junction of Wyke Lane.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Leeds was taken to hospital but died later.
The passenger, a 29-year-old man from Bradford was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a serious condition.

Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw the vehicle travelling in the area before the incident, or who witnessed the collision itself to come forward. Information can be passed to MCET via 101 quoting 13170319659.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Oakenshaw.

Officers were called at around 3.30am this morning (13/07) to Bradford Road, at the junction of Wyke Lane.

A silver MGF car was travelling from Low Moor in the direction of Chain Bar, when it was in collision with a wall.

The male driver and a male passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the car driving in the area prior to the collision, to get in touch with police.
