Officers, staff and members of the public who put their lives at risk and have tackled Violence Against Women and Girls are just some of the people honoured at the Bradford District Awards.

Police officers and residents who put themselves at risk to save lives, and officers who hunted down sex offenders and protected children from exploitation have been honored in Kirklees.
These awards recognise the excellent contribution of local members and schemes in making a difference in their area.
The Tour de Yorkshire 2019 will be held for the fifth time this year from Thursday 2nd May to Sunday 5th May 2019.

The band was formed out of the Bradford and Leeds City Police Bands when in 1974 the Leeds and Bradford Forces amalgamated to form part of The West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police. The bands merged to become The West Yorkshire Police Band. Initially the Band was military in style, with woodwind, brass and percussion it wasn't until 1984 a new ethos was agreed and since then the Band has been styled in the traditional Brass Band format. Originally comprised solely of serving police officers, the band now draws from the wider police family, retired police officers and members of the public. The band has one of the largest number of regular volunteers for West Yorkshire Police contributing an average of 4500 volunteering hours each year.

Police in the Yorkshire and Humber region have started preparing for a safe and secure Yorkshire 2019 UCI Road World Championships. Harrogate will serve as the destination town for every race between 21 and 29 September next year and the event consist of nine days of racing featuring locations including Richmond, Northallerton, Tadcaster, Ripon, Wetherby, Bradford, Leeds, Doncaster and Beverley.
